They help bring people to Christ by placing and distributing Scriptures in over 100 languages throughout the world. Bibles and New Testaments are placed by Gideons in doctors’ offices, jails and prisons, hotels and other public lodging facilities, and are provided free of charge to the military and students in some 200 countries (including the United States) free of charge. The Gideons International has distributed over two billion Scriptures worldwide since 1908. One of their newest programs is the Gideon Bible App for smart phones and similar devices.
