From their beginning in 1987 through 2017, this volunteer group of heart care specialists and interested friends have arranged for more than 55 medical mission trips in 27 countries. The intent is to teach local doctors and nurses advanced cardiac care, elevating surgical outcomes, and overall patient care long after CardioStart volunteers have left the country. They have shipped over one million dollars worth of medical goods in 57 cargo containers and 12 pallets. They have preformed 999 corrective surgeries and served 3757 patients.
