They save lives globally by providing cardiovascular implantable devices and treatment to the needy people of the world. Their Pacemaker Program provides the medical pacing devices, implantation, and lifelong follow-up care for the devices at no cost to their patients. As of December 31, 2015, they have served in over 25 developing countries and have helped save over 12,000 lives. In 2018, they hope to serve 600 patients with new pacemakers and related products.
Their unique partnerships with medical manufacturers allows them to accept and receive the donation of new state of the art pacemaker and other cardiac devices.
This is not to be confused with programs in other organizations whereby used pacemakers can be sterilized and reused.
