Begun as “Indigenous People’s Technology,” I-TEC and its educational center helps in some of the more remote areas of the developing world. They develop tools and technologies to equip Christ-followers to meet the needs of people in their communities. An important facet is their medical training program. I-TEC is involved in creating portable dental operatory equipment that can easily be carried in a backpack and used with solar power. One 33-pound package includes a special dental exam chair (described and illustrated on their website). I-TEC has other new programs and products for missions, including eye care and even an airborne “flying car.” Their website shows a video of a new drone they developed that can carry a package of medicine into a remote area of Ecuador, thus saving the life of someone who had been bitten by a poisonous snake.
