This international organization is working with partners in over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean to eliminate avoidable blindness and promote equality of opportunity for disabled people. They do this by investing in training and supporting medical staff and volunteers in developing countries. In 2015, Sightsavers supported the distribution of 103 million treatments to protect against neglected tropical diseases, over 13 million eye exams, over 296,000 operations to restore eye sight or prevent blindness, and school support for more than 9,000 children with disabilities. However, they do not organize medical mission trips. Much more information is on their website.
