Their goal is to help eliminate five of the most common neglected tropical diseases (NTDs): intestinal worms, lymphatic filariasis, trachoma, river blindness, and schistomomiasis. These NTDs affect nearly one in six people worldwide, including 800 million children. They are the most common afflictions of the world’s poorest people. Since 2012, the END Fund worked with partners to provide over 510 million treatments and train over 1 million health workers across 29 countries. In 2017 alone, the END Fund and partners provided 150 million treatments to 97 million people in 23 countries; trained over 344,000 health workers; and performed over 1,000 surgeries for people suffering from lymphatic filarasis and blinding trachoma.
