One of the major medical problems in hospitals in many developing countries is the frequency of biomedical equipment breakdowns in hospitals and not being able to handle the situation. Often equipment has been sent that is not appropriate for local needs and therefore unusable. TriMedx Foundation is a Christian organization that focuses on biomedical equipment and teaching the necessary skills to uitilize it effectively for mission hospitals in developing countries. They note that often “the need for functioning medical equipment in developing countries is even greater than the need for doctors.” Since 2004, they have helped in 25 countries and have sent 127 biomedical equipment repair teams overseas. They are a TECH member.
