This organization seeks to eliminate blindness and has a strong emphasis on needs throughout the developing world as they work with both faith-based and secular humanitarian organizations. Vision Outreach does long-term and short-term mission projects with emphasis on teaching mission doctors (both American and from developing countries) how to do cataract surgery in a mission setting.
Some other organizations are affiliated with it, including Global Sight Alliance (www.globalsight.org), and Mission Eyes International (www.missioneyes.net). Global Sight serves as a clearing house for eye care professionals interested in mission outreach. Roger Cabe is the director of Vision Outreach International.
