Among their many other outstanding programs is their “Water and Sanitation Resources Action Group” (WASRAG). It seeks to improve water quality and hygiene throughout the developing world. One initiative emphasizes bio-sand water filters. They are relatively inexpensive to construct with local labor and material, and when properly maintained, may last for 50 years. r
