This is one of the best books dealing with overseas medical mission issues from a Christian perspective. Non-medical groups can also get a lot from it. Dr. Greene, retired from the faculty of the University of Washington College of Medicine in Seattle, shares over two decades of experiences in Africa, Asia, and Latin America (especially Honduras). Most mission team members are very concerned about their own personal health, as well as that of people they serve. Dr. Greene answers the “what if” questions with clarity (and a sense of humor) that both professionals and lay people can readily understand. Anyone planning a trip should see his advice on how to prepare for medical care for team members. His bibliography is excellent and includes very helpful websites.
