With over 17,000 members in 280 chapters in all 50 states, EWB-USA brings together students, professionals, and non-engineers in projects to help improve living standards in many of the most impoverished areas. Clean water, sanitation, renewable energy, improved food production and distribution, sustainable enterprise, and civil works and structures are their major areas of focus. Internationally, EWB has chapters in 39 countries and has 506 community-driven projects as of September 2023.
