This Christian relief and development organization is involved in nearly 30 countries as it strives to overcome all forms of poverty in cooperation with overseas churches and individuals. Areas of emphasis include agriculture, education, health, church leadership development, clean water, and income generation. They have a large child sponsorship program. FH emphasizes partnering with the poor — instead of trying to come in with all the answers. The FH Cascade Model refers to a program of teaching and learning through small groups where they serve. Sometimes churches in the U.S. and other affluent countries having links to FH send short-term mission teams through them, and they also have a Hunger Corps to send self-supported individuals to work in their programs.
