Their goal is “To continue the healing ministry of Jesus Christ by enhancing the health care programs of Lutheran Churches in other countries.” Currently they are involved in more than 20 countries throughout the developing world.
There are several ways that volunteers can help. In the U.S., people can prepare hospice kits, newborn kits, rolled bandages, and sometimes other things. GHM appreciates help in their warehouse (at the above address). Looking beyond, they send teams of qualified short-term mission teams to various destinations.
GHM tries to send a twenty or forty-foot containers of medical supplies overseas every month — plus other goods to hand-carry. Much more information is on their website.
