The acronym stands for water, sanitation, and hygiene. Until having to close their office on December 31, 2015, they emphasized providing information and networking regarding water and sanitation issues. A major goal was getting more Americans to persuade lawmakers to support clean water and sanitation projects in the developing world. Over 40 organizations were part of their advocacy. However, their website will be maintained through 2016 and is an excellent place to find very compelling stories, statistics, and other information about what many people and organizations are doing.
