This large Christian humanitarian organization seeks to work with “children, families, and their communities worldwide” by “tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.” Child sponsorship, health, economic development, clean water and sanitation, education, disaster response, food and agriculture, child protection, gender equality, and disability inclusion are emergency aid, clean water, among their main areas of emphasis. They serve close to 100 million people in nearly 100 countries. A current example (December 2016) is helping with the refugee crisis in Syria — especially in war-torn Aleppo. Their website shows how to give to that and other ministries in which they are involved.
World Vision belongs to PQMD (Partnership for Quality Medical Donations).
In 2005, World Vision and Zondervan published the Faith in Action Study Bible. Using the Revised Standard Version format, it has many stories and charts that correlate biblical passages to past and present mission challenges and is very excellent reading.
