The Lausanne Movement calls itself “A worldwide Movement that mobilizes evangelical leaders to collaborate for world evangelism.” It grew out of the 1974 International Congress on World Evangelism in Lausanne, Switzerland which was convened by Rev. Billy Graham and Bishop Jack Dain. Over 4,000 leaders from 198 countries attended Cape Town 2010: The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelism. Their website has information about other gatherings and mission evangelism resources. They have a new electronic publication called The Lausanne Global Analysis (www.lausanne.org/analysis) Another useful tool is the Cape Town Commitment: (www.lausanne.org/ctcommitment), and it serves as a blueprint for their many activities.
